Metallurgical Superintendent (FIFO Rotation)
The Metallurgical Superintendent reports to the Processing Manager, and the primary role is to provide leadership and guidance to the Metallurgical Team within the Processing Department
Duties include:
Build & Mentor the Metallurgical Team as required, emphasizing Safety, high technical standards and continuous improvement
Develop a culture of high performance and behaviors that are consistent with agreed values ensuring performance objectives and measures are developed and assessed
Develop a succession plan for roles within the team
Ensure that all safety impacts from a metallurgical point of view are addressed
Communicate the business objectives with the operations team to ensure all activities are focused on agreed outcomes
Manage and improve the metal accounting system
Managing mill linings, mill performance
Take a proactive approach to fixing issues
Provide and monitor training opportunities in an objective process; ensure that training opportunities are made avaliable fairly
Take a lead in developing the Processing Department Budget

The specifics:
Degree majoring in Metallurgical Engineering/Extractive Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
Minimum 10 years relevant experience in the gold and hydrometallurgical mining industry
Hand-on metallurgical test work experience
Minimum 3-4 years experience in a supervisory role
Computer literacy Microsoft Office, special emphasis placed on Excel skills
Excellent communication skills.
Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements.
Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.
