Operations Superintendent - Hydrometallurgy
The Operations Superintendent will be responsible for managing the safe operations of a section of the hydrometallurgical facility, with responsibility for all operational KPI’s including production, efficiency, availability, utilization, and budget. Effectively coordinate production across 4 crews running 24 hours a day; 7 days a week. Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal safety, and quality regulations.

Primary Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
Create a positive, respectful atmosphere among crews, fostering a team environment and open communication
Implement production plans according to approved schedule
Manage and coordinate activities between maintenance and production to maximize plant availability
Provide support and resources for supervisors and operators, including ongoing training, coaching and goals
Help generate and provide input for area budget, track costs and maintain budget, and adjust going forward
Inspect and evaluate work progress, identify problems, and direct remedial action
Prioritize staff, materials, and equipment to accomplish monthly and quarterly goals.
Develop and review process procedures
Ensure all safety and operations procedures and documentation are properly performed including LOTO, confined space, and permit to work
Ensure safe, environmentally compliant, and cleanly work areas are maintained
Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports
Other duties as assigned
Education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) preferred
5+ Years experience in an industrial facility with direct and indirect supervision
Previous experience in leaching, solvent extraction or crystallization processes preferred
Budget creation and management experience
Able to offer technical expertise and guidance
Skilled in building strong rapport with department team members and external departments
Valid State issued Drivers License or Government issued I.D
Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
Experience with routine maintenance operations
Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, methods, process, and procedures
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
Skilled in following safety and environmental practices and recognizing hazards
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Able to work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail with focus on continuous improvement
