Supply Chain Superintendent
Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Superintendent for their mine in the western U.S. This key professional will be responsible for leadership and direction of supply chain activities at the site, including purchasing, warehousing / inventory control and logistics in addition to directing internal compliance with established policies, procedures, strategies, and guidelines. The work schedule is 4 days on 3 days off.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge of available transportation options to ensure the prompt, efficient and on time receipt of goods.
Ensure submitted purchase requisitions contain necessary and accurate details, to confirm purchase and delivery of goods requirements are met. Responsible for expediting purchase orders and continually track open purchase requisitions.
Responsible for site contract administration process and ensuring compliance with company procedures and standards including conducting all business activities in accordance with company’s ethical standards and business practices.
Liaise with vendors and negotiate site pricing agreements in conjunction with site leadership and the corporate supply chain team.
Manage freight logistics (including commodity) to ensure continuous low-cost operation of the mine.
Manage and optimize warehousing functions including establishing procedures to control inventory, coordinating procurement processes with all site departments to ensure timely receipt of parts and services, and maintaining economic inventory controls.
Prepare and submit bid packages to obtain competitive bids on commodity price and services to those vendors that will comply with company’s requirements and specifications.
Qualifications:
Ability to work safe and promote safe behavior in others required.
Minimum of 10 years Supply Chain experience to include 5+ years in a leadership role.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred or equivalent experience.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written required.
Experience in contract negotiations, procurement, and logistics.
Experience in warehousing and inventory management
Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure work environment required.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment required.
High level experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and MSWord) preferred.
